The Blakk Co. idea was conceived after the worldwide outcry of "George Floyd" May 2020, later founded in August 2020 in response to the systemic violence and lack of social spaces to discuss challenging difficult times and conversations
Starting off as a Men's-Only Club, later evolving to become a Co-Ed Social Club for Men and Women of Color in 2022, serving Youth of Color that same year to establish a sense of trust, upliftment, and healing within our community
In 2024, it is the mission of The Blakk Co. is to bring forth the history and importance of inclusive social spaces for Communities of Color through the awareness and preservation of The Black Social Clubs

Founded by visionaries Christina Williams and Dr. Tamela Ross, who's passion to create space within their community, ignited the vision to establish what is known today as The Blakk Co. Social Club
Williams with a history of Entrepreneurship in Business and Cosmetology and Ross, a history of serving and supporting the causes of strengthening our communities in Wellness and Mental Health together have committed themselves since 2020 to ensuring there is an inclusive space design to UPLIFT. The Black Social Clubs Era in Kansas City Missouri and Kansas ignited a movement beginning early in the 1920's with a heavy population of activity and engagement between the 1940's through the late 1960's with clubs such as The Beau Brummel, The Saturday Night 16, The Kansas Citians, Twin Citians and many more
These organized groups consisted of black citizens of both Missouri and Kansas coming together to serve, advocate, socialize and support the communities in which they lived
